How To Build a Halifax Bomber:
An Aircraft Restorers Journey
This book is the story of Karl Kjarsgaard’s personal journey to restore a Handley Page Halifax bomber to ground running condition as part of the exhibits at the Bomber Command Museum of Canada at Nanton, Alberta. The journey will include diving off the coast of Sweden at a crash site, searching scrap yards in Malta, trading parts with museums in England, and scrounging parts worldwide. The aircraft restoration includes wing and fuselage work done by Knox Tech, Arnprior, Ontario and Karl’s own personal achievement to restore in Nanton the four Hercules engines to ground running condition.

"Canadian Arctic Flying Adventure" Fiction
This is a fictional aviation story partly based on my own flying experience in the High Canadian Arctic. The cold, the weather, the raw beauty, the struggle to stay alive, the Inuit (the people who inhabit this vast land), the airports, the black flies, the landing strips, the mountains, the inlets, the islands and the frozen sea ice all feature in this attempt at a novel. It will be a combined author project with my son, an airline pilot, who has previous experience flying in remote areas.
